She is known for her role as Caroline in the film *Frances Ha* (2013). On television she has appeared as Eleanor Gallinger in *The Knick* (2014–2015), Chloe Leland in *Jane the Virgin* (2014), Zoe Corinth in *Sleepy Hollow* (2013) and in recurring roles in *Boardwalk Empire* and other series. She is the daughter of screenwriters Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord, and the sister of actress Zoe Kazan.
