## Biography

Maya Mumma is a documentary film editor. She edited episodes of the 2016 series *O.J.: Made in America*, directed by Ezra Edelman, for which she shared a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, an ACE Eddie Award and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association award for best editing.

Mumma began her career working in the edit room on the documentary *Restrepo*. She has since edited numerous documentaries and series, including *Which Way Is the Front Line from Here? The Life and Time of Tim Hetherington* (2013), *Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown* (2014), *King in the Wilderness* (2018), *John McCain: For Whom the Bell Tolls* (2018), *True Justice: Bryan Stevenson’s Fight for Equality* (2019, also as producer) and *Obama: In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union* (2021).

Originally from Oklahoma, Mumma holds a B.A. in Social Anthropology from Boston University and an M.A. in Media Studies from the New School, where she also completed its Documentary Media Studies programme. She is a member of the American Cinema Editors.
