Mehboob Khan, also credited as Mehboob Khan Ramzan Khan, was an Indian film director and producer. Born on 9 September 1907 in Bilimora, Baroda State, British India, he began his career in the film industry as an extra and assistant before making his directorial debut with *Al Hilal* (1935). He directed and produced numerous films until the early 1960s.

Khan is best known for directing and producing the epic *Mother India* (1957), a remake of his earlier *Aurat* (1940). The film won Filmfare Awards for Best Film and Best Director, two National Film Awards, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He established Mehboob Productions and later Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai, in 1954. Other notable works include *Andaz* (1949), *Aan* (1952) and *Amar* (1954). He received the Padma Shri in 1963 and died on 28 May 1964.
