Mehcad Brooks is an American actor. Born on 25 October 1980 in Austin, Texas, he attended the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television before leaving to pursue acting. He began his career as a fashion model.

Brooks is known for his roles as Matthew Applewhite in *Desperate Housewives* (2005–2006), Eggs Talley in *True Blood* (2008–2010), Terrance “TK” King in *Necessary Roughness* (2011–2013), James Olsen in *Supergirl* (2015–2021), and NYPD Detective Jalen Shaw in *Law & Order* (2022–2025). He also played Jax in *Mortal Kombat* (2021) and is set to reprise the role in *Mortal Kombat II* (2026). He received a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the ensemble cast of *Desperate Housewives*.
