## Biography

Melanie Coombs is a producer specialising in animation and live-action features. She trained in media arts production at the University of Technology Sydney.

She produced the stop-motion short *Harvie Krumpet* (2003), which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, and the feature *Mary and Max* (2009), which received the Annecy Grand Cristal. Both were directed by Adam Elliot. She later served as co-producer and production supervisor on *Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio* (2022).

Coombs has also produced the documentary *Graceful Girls* (2015) and the feature *The Death and Life of Otto Bloom* (2016). She is a member of the Animation Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and an ambassador for Screenrights.
