## Biography

Melrose is a Finnish rock band formed in 1981 in Vantaa. The group, led by guitarist and vocalist Tokela (Mika Tuokkola), blends rock 'n' roll, rockabilly and other influences.

Melrose has contributed music to films by Aki Kaurismäki. Credits include composer on *Ariel* (1988) and *Lights in the Dusk* (2006), as well as performances and soundtrack contributions to *Hamlet Goes Business* (1987), *The Match Factory Girl* (1990) and *Drifting Clouds* (1996). The band disbanded in 2025.
