## Biography

Meltem Cumbul is a Turkish actress and acting teacher. She was born on 5 November 1969 in İzmir, Turkey, and graduated from the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

Her film credits include the role of Selma in *Head-On* (2004), Filiz in *Propaganda* (1999) and Dünya in *Lovelorn* (2005). On television she has played Fatma Sultan in *The Magnificent Century* (2011) and appeared in *Yılan Hikayesi* (1999–2001). She has also performed in stage productions and musicals including *Smokey Joe's Cafe* and *Taming of the Shrew*.

Cumbul has received awards including the Golden Orange for Best Actress for *Abdülhamit Düşerken* (2003) and recognition at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. She studied with acting teacher Eric Morris in Los Angeles and teaches his method at Mimar Sinan University.
