## Biography

Merrill G. White (13 December 1901 – 21 March 1959) was an American film editor and screenwriter. He began his career at Paramount in the late 1920s and worked in Britain during the 1930s, including on several productions for Herbert Wilcox.

White edited numerous films, among them *The Love Parade* (1929), *The Smiling Lieutenant* (1931), *The Red House* (1947), *Tarzan and the Huntress* (1947), *Robot Monster* (1953), *The Brave One* (1956) and *The Fly* (1958). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing for *The Brave One*. He also co-directed *Ghost Diver* (1957) and served as associate producer on *Courage of Black Beauty* (1957).
