## Biography

Mia Bays is a British film producer. She produced the documentary *Scott Walker: 30 Century Man* (2006), directed by Stephen Kijak and executive produced by David Bowie, for which she received a BAFTA nomination for the Carl Foreman Award. She also produced the Oscar-winning short film *Six Shooter* (2004), directed by Martin McDonagh.

Bays has worked across production, distribution and exhibition for nearly three decades. From 2007 to 2014 she served as creative producer on Film London and BBC Films' Microwave micro-budget scheme. In 2021 she was appointed Director of the BFI Filmmaking Fund, a role she held until October 2026, overseeing National Lottery investment in UK feature films and talent development.

She has executive produced films including *Bird* (2024) and *The Thing with Feathers* (2025), and has championed under-represented voices through initiatives such as Birds Eye View.
