Mia Kirshner is a Canadian actress. She was born on 25 January 1975 in Toronto, Ontario, and studied Russian literature and the 20th-century movie industry at McGill University.

Kirshner began her career with roles in Canadian films including *Love and Human Remains* (1993) and *Exotica* (1994). She is known for her performances as Mandy in *24* (2001–2005), Jenny Schecter in *The L Word* (2004–2009), Isobel Flemming in *The Vampire Diaries* (2010–2011), and Amanda Grayson in *Star Trek: Discovery* (2017–2019) and *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds* (2023). In film she played Elizabeth Short in *The Black Dahlia* (2006) and Catherine Wyler in *Not Another Teen Movie* (2001). She is also a writer and social activist.
