## Biography

Michael A. Allowitz is an American television director and producer. He began his career in the late 1980s as a production assistant before working as an assistant director on feature films including *The Prom* (1992), *Cruel Intentions* (1999) and *Bring It On Again* (2004). He later served as first assistant director on television series such as *In Treatment* and, from 2009, *The Vampire Diaries*.

Allowitz transitioned to directing on *The Vampire Diaries*, helming 11 episodes between 2013 and 2016, among them "Christmas Through Your Eyes". He has since directed episodes of *The Originals*, *The Flash*, *Dynasty* (12 episodes, 2017–2022), *Legacies* and *Batwoman*.
