## Biography

Michael Bittins is a German film producer and production manager. Born in 1941, he is the son of producer and production manager Alfred Bittins. He entered the industry in 1960 as a production assistant on the television series *Es ist soweit* and worked regularly as a production manager from the mid-1960s, including on *Raumpatrouille* (1965) and *Deep End* (1970).

Bittins collaborated several times with director Wolfgang Petersen, serving as production manager or co-producer on *Vier gegen die Bank* (1976), *Schwarz und weiß wie Tage und Nächte* (1978) and *Das Boot* (1981). He also produced feature films such as *Tausend Augen* (1984), *Der Sommer des Samurai* (1986) and *Der Madonna-Mann* (1987). He has been inactive in film since the late 1990s.
