Michael C. Butler is an American cinematographer. Born on 7 May 1945 in Los Angeles, he began his career as a camera operator on *The Christian Licorice Store* (1971) before serving as director of photography on *Charley Varrick* (1973).

He has worked on numerous feature films, including *Harry and Tonto* (1974), *The Missouri Breaks* (1976), *Telefon* (1977), *Jaws 2* (1978), *Smokey and the Bandit II* (1980), *The Cannonball Run* (1981) and *MegaForce* (1982). Butler is the son of special-effects artist Lawrence W. Butler and the brother of cinematographer David L. Butler.
