Michael Cerveris is an American actor and singer. He was born on 6 November 1960 in Bethesda, Maryland, and raised in Huntington, West Virginia. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1979 and from Yale University in 1983 with a degree in theatre studies.

Cerveris has had a substantial career in stage musicals and plays. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as John Wilkes Booth in *Assassins* (2004) and the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in *Fun Home* (2015). His Broadway credits include several Stephen Sondheim works such as *Sweeney Todd*, *Road Show* and *Passion*, as well as *The Who's Tommy* and *Hedwig and the Angry Inch*.

On screen, he played Frank in *The Mexican* (2001). Other film roles include Elihas Starr in *Ant-Man and the Wasp* (2018) and Mr Tiny in *Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant* (2009). Television appearances include September/The Observer in *Fringe* (2008–2013), Ted Gunn in *Mindhunter* (2017) and Professor Pyg in *Gotham* (2014).
