## Biography

Michael Jonathan Smith is an American television writer and producer. He is a Syracuse University alumnus who began his career in scripted television after working in assistant roles and creating independent content.

Smith joined the writers’ room on *Cobra Kai* (2018) as a staff writer for its first season and contributed episodes including the teleplay for ‘Molting’. He advanced to supervising producer, co-executive producer and executive producer across its six seasons. He created and served as showrunner on the Peacock series *Twisted Metal* (2023), for which he also wrote episodes. He has an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television and received a Primetime Emmy nomination.
