## Biography

Michael Joy is a Canadian production designer. He graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada, where he later taught, and also taught at Concordia University. He began his career in Montreal, working on theatre, films and television commercials in both English and French.

Joy is best known for his production design on the series *Once Upon a Time* (2011–2015). His other credits include *Tin Man* (2007), *Joan of Arc* (1999), *The Assignment* (1997), *Alice* (2009) and *Resident Alien* (2021). He received Primetime Emmy nominations for *Tin Man* and *Joan of Arc*, and won Leo Awards for production design on *Tin Man* and *Alice*.
