Michael Kane is a New Zealand costume designer and production designer. He began in wardrobe departments on New Zealand films in the early 1980s.

Kane was costume designer on *Utu* (1983), *Heart of the Stag* (1984) and *The Quiet Earth* (1985). He later served as production designer on *Desperate Remedies* (1992), *Once Were Warriors* (1994) and other features.
