## Biography

Michael Kozoll is an American screenwriter and producer. He wrote for several 1970s television series, including *Kojak*, *Quincy, M.E.*, *McCloud*, *Delvecchio* and *Kolchak: The Night Stalker*.

Kozoll co-created the police procedural series *Hill Street Blues* with Steven Bochco and served as writer, producer and co-showrunner for its first two seasons (1981–82). He received multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on the series, including for Outstanding Drama Series in 1981 and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

After leaving *Hill Street Blues* in 1982, his subsequent credits include a co-screenplay on the film *First Blood* (1982) and a co-story credit on *The Hard Way* (1991).
