## Biography

Michael Lloyd is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, arranger and music supervisor, also credited as Michael Jeffrey Lloyd and Michael Lloyd II. Born in New York City on 3 November 1948, he began his career in the mid-1960s, working with Mike Curb and Kim Fowley on projects that included Steven Spielberg's short film *Amblin'* (1968) and the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.

Lloyd supervised the soundtrack for *Dirty Dancing* (1987), producing the Academy Award-winning hit '(I've Had) The Time of My Life'. He has contributed to numerous film scores and soundtracks, including *Godzilla* (1998), *Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie* (1998) and *The Garbage Pail Kids Movie* (1987), and has produced records for artists including the Osmonds, Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garrett. He has stated that his work has earned over 100 gold and platinum records.
