## Biography

Michael Luciano (2 May 1909 – 15 September 1992) was an American film and television editor. He had around forty feature film credits and additional work in television. Early in his career he assisted on films including *Body and Soul* (1947).

From 1954 to 1977 Luciano edited nearly all of the twenty films directed by Robert Aldrich. Their collaboration began with *World for Ransom* (1954) and included *Kiss Me Deadly* (1955), *What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?* (1962), *Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte* (1964), *The Flight of the Phoenix* (1965), *The Dirty Dozen* (1967) and *The Longest Yard* (1974). He received four Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing for his work with Aldrich.

Luciano's later credits included *Stripes* (1981) and, as supervising editor and associate producer, *Kidnapped* (1987).
