## Biography

Michael Mayers is a cinematographer. He served as director of photography on 37 episodes of the television series *The West Wing* (1999–2006), photographing much of the show's location work in New York and Washington DC before joining the main unit in Los Angeles.

His feature credits include *Spanking the Monkey* (1994), *Cafe Society* (1995), *Joe the King* (1999) and *Two Family House* (2000). He has also worked on series including *Brothers & Sisters* (2006–2010) and *Mixology* (2014).

Mayers has taught at SUNY Purchase and spoken at USC and UCLA. He has received ASC award nominations for his work on *The Pentagon Papers* (2003) and *The Lyon's Den* (2003), and was Emmy-nominated as a producer on an episode of *Great Books*. Prior to his film career he was an instructor for Colorado Outward Bound.
