## Biography

Michael McShane is an American actor, singer and improvisational comedian. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he trained in the classics and improvisational comedy in Berkeley, California. This work took him to England in 1988, where he became one of the first American performers accepted into the British improv scene.

He appeared regularly on the original British television series *Whose Line Is It Anyway?* (1988–1997). McShane is known for playing Friar Tuck in *Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves* (1991) and for voice roles including Tuck and Roll in *A Bug's Life* (1998) and Hands in *Treasure Planet* (2002). Other credits include *Office Space* (1999), *Richie Rich* (1994) and guest appearances in series such as *Seinfeld*, *Malcolm in the Middle* and *Doctor Who*.
