## Biography

Michael Mills was an English television producer and director. He served as the BBC's Head of Comedy from 1967 to 1972 and was the original producer of the series *Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em* (1973–1975).

After leaving the BBC, Mills joined Thames Television, where he produced series including *Get Some In!* (1975–1978) and *Chance in a Million* (1984–1986). He was nominated for three BAFTA Television Awards.

Mills was born on 13 May 1919 in Prestwich, Lancashire, and died on 7 January 1988 in Gillingham, Kent. He was married to actress Valerie Leon from 1974 until his death.
