Michael O'Connor is a British costume designer. Born in London on 27 October 1965, he trained in theatre as a dresser at the Old Vic before working for six years in a costume house and becoming freelance.

He began film work in the 1990s as wardrobe supervisor on titles including *Emma* (1996) and advanced to assistant costume designer on films such as *Quills* (2000). O'Connor won the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Costume Design for *The Duchess* (2008).
