## Biography

Michael O'Herlihy was an Irish television and film director and producer. He directed episodes of numerous American series from the 1950s to the 1980s, including *Star Trek* (1966), *Mission: Impossible* (1966), *Gunsmoke* (1955), *Maverick* (1957), *Hawaii Five-O* (1969), *M*A*S*H* (1972), *The A-Team* (1983), *Miami Vice* (1984) and *Matlock* (1986).

O'Herlihy directed the feature films *The Fighting Prince of Donegal* (1966), *The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band* (1968) and *Smith!* (1969). He received an Emmy nomination for directing the miniseries *Backstairs at the White House* (1979). He was the younger brother of actor Dan O'Herlihy.
