Michael Patrick King is an American television writer, director and producer. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he moved to New York in 1975, where he performed stand-up comedy and wrote plays before relocating to Los Angeles. He began his television career writing for the series *Murphy Brown*.

King is best known for his work on *Sex and the City* (1998–2004), where he served as writer, executive producer and director of the 2008 and 2010 feature films. He co-created the comedies *The Comeback* (2005), *2 Broke Girls* (2011) and *AJ and the Queen* (2020), and has contributed to *Will & Grace* and *And Just Like That…* (2021).
