## Biography

Michael Petroni is an Australian screenwriter, director and producer. He studied screenwriting at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles, graduating in 1996, and wrote his first feature script there.

His screenwriting credits include *The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader* (2010), *The Book Thief* (2013), *The Rite* (2011) and *The Pope's Exorcist* (2023). He created and wrote the Netflix series *Messiah* (2020) and earlier co-created the ABC series *Miracles* (2003). Petroni has also directed *Till Human Voices Wake Us* (2002) and *Backtrack* (2015).

He has been married to actress Jenni Baird since 2008.
