Michael Poryes is an American television writer and producer. Born in Los Angeles on 22 March 1955, he began his career writing episodes for series including *Alice* (1976), *The Facts of Life* (1979), *Who's the Boss?* (1984), *Small Wonder* (1985) and *Saved by the Bell* (1989). He contributed the story for the 1992 *Roseanne* episode 'This Old House'.

Poryes created and served as executive producer on the Disney Channel series *That's So Raven* (2003–2007) and *Hannah Montana* (2006–2011). He has also created *Life with Boys* (2011) and contributed to spin-offs including *Raven's Home* (2017). He received a Humanitas Prize nomination for his work on *Roseanne* and Emmy nominations for outstanding children's programme on *Hannah Montana*.
