## Biography

Michel Subor (born Mischa Subotzki; 2 February 1935 – 17 January 2022) was a French actor. He made his screen debut in the mid-1950s and appeared in Roger Vadim's *La Bride sur le cou* (1961). He provided the narration for François Truffaut's *Jules and Jim* (1962) and played Bruno Forestier in Jean-Luc Godard's *Le Petit Soldat* (1963).

Subor featured in Alfred Hitchcock's *Topaz* (1969). After working less frequently, he returned to prominence with Claire Denis, playing Commander Bruno Forestier in *Beau Travail* (2000) and appearing in her later films *White Material* (2010) and *Bastards* (2013). He died in Toulouse following a car accident.
