Michelle Joyner is an American actress and director. Born on 17 September 1961 in Sacramento, California, she trained in acting after a modelling career, including a programme at Balliol College, Oxford, involving the Moscow Art Theatre and Berliner Ensemble. She holds a BA in English Literature from Hunter College.

Joyner is known for film roles including Sarah in *Cliffhanger* (1993), Sherry Mauldin in *Outbreak* (1995), Donna Joy in *I Love You to Death* (1990) and Jenny in *Grim Prairie Tales* (1990). Her television credits include Ellen Adderly in *The X-Files* (2000), appearances in *Bones* (2011), *Millennium* (1996), *Quantum Leap* (1989) and *Perception* (2012).

She has also worked in theatre as a director, writer and dramaturg. Joyner has been married to director Robert H. Egan since 2001.
