## Biography

Michiko Ikeda is a Japanese film editor born on 20 February 1936 in Tochigi Prefecture. She initially sought work as a scripter at Toho but failed the entrance exam. While assisting at her sister's restaurant near the studio, she met Iwashita Hirokazu, who encouraged her to pursue a career in film editing.

Her credits include numerous Toho productions. She edited the kaiju films *Godzilla vs. Megalon* (1973), *Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla* (1974), *Godzilla vs. Biollante* (1989) and *Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah* (1991), as well as *Submersion of Japan* (1973) and *Evil of Dracula* (1974). In 1974 she received the editing award at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival.
