## Biography

Michiya Katō is a Japanese animation director and photography director. He graduated from Musashino Art University and worked in advertising and special effects before founding Cyclone Graphics in 2002.

He served as photography director and CG director on *Paprika* (2006). Katō has directed series including *Oden-kun* (2005–2009) and *Bihada Ichizoku* (2008), and contributed photography or visual effects to films such as *Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection* (2009), *Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu* (2017) and *Bubble* (2022).
