## Biography

Mike Donlin was an American actor and former professional baseball player. Born Michael Joseph Donlin on 30 May 1878 in Peoria, Illinois, he played outfield in Major League Baseball from 1899 to 1914, chiefly with the New York Giants, before moving into stage and screen work.

After retiring from baseball, Donlin appeared in numerous films, often in supporting or uncredited roles. He is credited as a Union general in Buster Keaton’s *The General* (1926) and had parts in *Beggars of Life* (1928), *One Way Passage* (1932) and *She Done Him Wrong* (1933). He died in Hollywood on 24 September 1933.
