## Biography

Mike Gray (1935–2013) was an American writer, screenwriter, producer, director and cinematographer. He co-founded the Chicago film production company The Film Group in 1965 and produced documentaries including *American Revolution 2* (1969) and *The Murder of Fred Hampton* (1971).

Gray co-wrote the screenplay for *The China Syndrome* (1979) with T. S. Cook and James Bridges. He wrote and directed the science-fiction film *Wavelength* (1983), co-created the television series *Starman* (1986–87), and served as series writer and producer on *Star Trek: The Next Generation* during its 1988–89 season, writing the episode "Unnatural Selection". He also wrote the screenplay for *Code of Silence* (1985) and worked as second-unit director on *The Fugitive* (1993).
