## Biography

Mike Hopkins is a British film and television editor. He trained at Newport Film School and began his career as a trainee assistant editor at the BBC in 1980 before moving to ITV, where he worked as an editor from 1984. Since 1995 he has worked freelance on drama, documentaries and commercials for clients including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Sky.

Hopkins edited four episodes of the BBC series *Torchwood* (2006–2008). His other television credits include episodes of *Doctor Who*, *The Sarah Jane Adventures*, *Keeping Faith* (2017–2019), *In My Skin* (2018) and multiple episodes of *Casualty* (2004–2024). Film work includes *Dal: Yma/Nawr* (2003) and *Black Mountain Poets*.

He received a BAFTA Wales nomination for Best Editor for *Dal: Yma/Nawr* and further nominations for series including *Torchwood* and *Doctor Who*.
