## Biography

Mike Shields is a Canadian composer of film and television scores. He began his career as a singer and songwriter, releasing two albums that included songs which charted in Canada, before moving into scoring for film and television.

He is known for his work on the films *Ginger Snaps* (2000) and *Tucker and Dale vs. Evil* (2010), as well as the television series *Blackstone* (2009–2015), *Sonic Prime* (2022–2024) and *Fireman Sam* (2002–present). He has scored more than twenty feature films and numerous television series, shorts and animated programmes.

Shields has received several awards for his scores, including a Gemini Award.
