## Biography

Mike Southon is a British cinematographer. He began his career in the 1970s at the BBC’s film unit at Ealing Studios, working on documentaries and drama. He later became a director of photography on series including *Bergerac* (1981) and *Doctor Who* (2005).

Southon has shot more than 250 music videos, including Guns N’ Roses’ ‘November Rain’ (1992), George Michael’s ‘Freedom! ’90’ (1990) and Prince’s ‘Cream’ (1991). His feature credits include *Gothic* (1987), *Little Man Tate* (1991), *Wuthering Heights* (1992), *Snow White: A Tale of Terror* (1997), the *Air Bud* films and *Replicant* (2001). He is a past president of the British Society of Cinematographers and has received BAFTA, ASC and other industry awards and nominations.
