## Biography

Mike Todd was an American theatre and film producer. Born Avrom Hirsch Goldbogen in Minneapolis, he began his career producing Broadway shows before moving into film in the 1950s.

He developed the Todd-AO widescreen process and produced the 1956 epic *Around the World in 80 Days*, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. He had earlier served as executive producer on *This Is Cinerama* (1952).

Todd died in a plane crash in New Mexico in 1958.
