## Biography

Mikhail Krichman (Михаил Владимирович Кричман) is a Russian cinematographer born on 17 June 1967 in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts in 1995 with a degree in engineering and technology.

He is best known for his long collaboration with director Andrey Zvyagintsev, serving as director of photography on all of the director’s feature films from *The Return* (2003) onwards, including *The Banishment* (2007), *Elena* (2011), *Leviathan* (2014) and *Loveless* (2017). Krichman has also worked with other directors on films such as *Silent Souls* (2010), *Miss Julie* (2014), *The Secret Scripture* (2017) and *Vermiglio* (2024).

His awards include the Golden Osella for best cinematography at the 2010 Venice Film Festival for *Silent Souls* and the Golden Frog at Camerimage for *Leviathan* (2014).
