Mikkel Mathis Gaup is a Sámi Norwegian actor. Born on 16 January 1968 in Alta, Norway, he made his film debut in 1987 as Aigin in *Pathfinder*, directed by his uncle Nils Gaup. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.

Gaup has appeared in films including *The Miracle* (1991), *Breaking the Waves* (1996) as Pits, and *The Kautokeino Rebellion* (2008) as Aslak Hætta. He has worked extensively in theatre with companies such as Beaivváš Sámi Teahter, Den Nationale Scene and Riksteatret. He has also performed and recorded joik, a traditional Sámi vocal style.
