## Biography

Mikko Paasi is a Finnish cave diver and underwater filmmaker who has appeared as himself in documentary films. He is credited as Self - Volunteer Cave Diver in *The Rescue* (2021), directed by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, which chronicles the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand.

Paasi also featured in *The Cave* (2019) and has contributed to other productions, including additional crew and camera work on series such as *Untold Arctic Wars* (2022–2024). He trained as a diving instructor in Finland and has run dive centres in Thailand for over twenty-five years. His involvement in the 2018 rescue earned him awards including the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Direkgunabhorn from the King of Thailand.
