## Biography

Ming-Na Wen is an American actress. She was born on 20 November 1963 on Coloane Island, Macau, and trained at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a BFA in theatre in 1986.

Her breakthrough film role came in *The Joy Luck Club* (1993). She voiced the title character in Disney’s *Mulan* (1998) and its sequel *Mulan II* (2004), and appeared in the 2020 live-action remake. Other notable credits include Dr Jing-Mei Chen in *ER* (1995–2004), Melinda May in *Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.* (2013–2020), and Fennec Shand in *The Mandalorian* (2019–) and *The Book of Boba Fett* (2021–2022).

Wen received an Annie Award for her voice work in *Mulan*. She was named a Disney Legend in 2019 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.
