Mitchell Butel is an Australian actor, singer, writer and director. He appeared as Officer Husselbeck in the film *Dark City* (1998). His other screen credits include *The Bank* (2001), *Gettin' Square* (2003), *Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King* (2006) and *2:22* (2017).

Butel is best known for his work in theatre, including musical and opera productions. He has received four Helpmann Awards, four Sydney Theatre Awards and two Green Room Awards. He was artistic director of the State Theatre Company of South Australia from 2019 to 2024, and took up the position of artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company in November 2024.
