Mitsuo Iso is a Japanese animator, director and screenwriter. Born in 1966 in Aichi, he began working as a freelance animator in the mid-1980s and has contributed key animation to numerous films and series, including *Ghost in the Shell* (1995), *Perfect Blue* (1998), *Porco Rosso* (1992) and *Cowboy Bebop: The Movie* (2001). He is also credited with visual effects work on titles such as *Blood: The Last Vampire* (2000).

Iso wrote the screenplay for episode 13 of the television series *Neon Genesis Evangelion* (1995) and provided additional uncredited contributions to its storyline and settings. He later created, directed and wrote the screenplay for the 2007 series *Dennō Coil*, for which he received the Nihon SF Taishō Award and the Seiun Award. He has worked under aliases including Mikio Odagawa and is associated with the website IMAGO-IMAGE.
