## Biography

Moira Armstrong is a Scottish television director. Born in Crieff in 1930, she trained as a continuity announcer in BBC Radio before moving into television.

Her early credits include episodes of *Z-Cars* (1962) and *Play for Today* (1970). She directed the 1971 BBC Scotland adaptation *Sunset Song* and, with Jonathan Powell, won the 1980 BAFTA award for Best Drama Series/Serial for *Testament of Youth* (1979). Later work includes episodes of *Boon* (1986), *The Bill*, *Midsomer Murders* (1997) and *Lark Rise to Candleford*.
