## Biography

Monica Evans is an English actress born on 7 June 1940 in Camberwell, London. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and appeared in early television and stage roles, including in the BBC series Compact.

She originated the role of Cecily Pigeon in the Broadway production of Neil Simon's The Odd Couple, which ran from 1965 to 1967, and reprised it in the 1968 film adaptation and several episodes of the 1970 television series.

Evans provided voices for two Walt Disney animated features, playing Abigail Gabble in The Aristocats (1970) and Maid Marian in Robin Hood (1973). Her final film role was in Robin Hood; she retired from acting thereafter.
