## Biography

Monika Buttinger is an Austrian costume designer. She was born on 23 September 1971 in Wels and trained at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Linz from 1986 to 1991, followed by fashion design studies at the Modeschule Wien im Schloss Hetzendorf, from which she graduated in 1995. She has worked as a freelance costume and fashion designer since that year.

Buttinger has designed costumes for numerous Austrian and international films and television productions. Her credits include *Revanche* (2008), *360* (2011), *Corsage* (2022), *Rubikon* (2022), *What We Wanted* (2020) and *Eismayer* (2022). She is also credited on *Gentle Monster* (2026). She has additionally designed for stage productions and created fashion collections.

Buttinger is a member of the Austrian Film Academy and was admitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2023.
