## Biography

Montgomery Pittman (1 March 1917 – 26 June 1962) was an American television writer, director and actor. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he began his career as an actor before moving into writing and directing for television in the 1950s.

He wrote and directed episodes of *The Twilight Zone* (1959), including “Two”, “The Grave” and “The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank”. His other credits include writing and directing for *Maverick* (1957) and *77 Sunset Strip* (1958), as well as writing the screenplay for the feature film *Come Next Spring* (1956). He was the stepfather of actress Sherry Jackson, whom he frequently cast in episodes he wrote or directed.
