## Biography

Mort Abrahams was an American film and television producer. Born in New York City on 26 March 1916, he began his career in television, producing early science-fiction series including *Tom Corbett, Space Cadet* (1950–55) and episodes of *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* (1964–68).

He worked as associate producer on *Planet of the Apes* (1968), *Doctor Dolittle* (1967) and *Goodbye, Mr. Chips* (1969). He co-wrote the story for *Beneath the Planet of the Apes* (1970), on which he was also associate producer. Later credits include executive producer on *The Holcroft Covenant* (1985). Abrahams died in Sherman Oaks, California, on 28 May 2009.
