Mounia Akl is a Lebanese director and writer. Born on 29 June 1989 in Lebanon, she holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and an MFA in directing from Columbia University.

She is known for her debut feature *Costa Brava, Lebanon* (2021), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Akl has directed episodes of the BBC series *Boiling Point* (2023) and *The Responder* (2024), as well as several short films including *Submarine* (2016). She splits her time between London and New York.
